I am looking for info on a reamer and gauges for an SPR build. It will be run almost exclusively with MK 262 and Green Tip...primarily MK 262. I keep running into 223 match reamers and gauges which I'm pretty sure won't work. Anybody know what reamer and gauges were used on actual SPRs built at Crane?

Why don't you just order a barrel from High Caliber Sales or Centurion if you're going to build a Mk12? They get it from the same guy who did it for the Mk12 program using the same reamer.

I would prefer to go with a cut rifled barrel, not a Douglas.

I wouldn't use the .223 Wylde because its got a little too much freebore (0.619), now that is only if you are planning on sticking with factory MK262 and green tip. I have a contract 18 inch Douglas that I got from Monte at Centurion, put a case of MK262 through it already and it shoots very, very acceptable. I also have a 18 inch Krieger from Compass Lake Engineering, when I ordered that barrel from Frank I specifically as for his 5.56 CLE chamber which is 0.25 freebore , 1 deg,30 min leade, the MK262 are only about 2.2450 in length and are a hot round . As mentioned above, Dave Kiff should be able to supply you with anything you need.

If you want true to spec go this route. I do know that the Wylde chamber is a good shooter and plenty safe with hot 262. 2774fps with a 77SMK in my rifle with the White Oak barrel.
