Suppressors 5/8 - 24 threads with .338 bore

Any issue with 5/8ths thread pattern on a .338 bore?
I just called in a 338 Ultra and currently plan to use it on smaller cals... but want to make sure it'll work for future expansion if/when a .338 makes it into the safe. It's an option on TBAC's site, so assume it's OK.

You'll probably be OK. There is (0.625"-0.338") 0.287" difference, or 0.1435" per side.

If it were me, I'd jump up to a 3/4" adapter. 0.750"-0.338" = 0.412", or 0.206" per side. Make sure your muzzle is large enough to accommodate the 3/4" thread......

I've heard issues with that, it's come up before on here. Never heard of a problem, just that it's not nearly enough meat, that the 3/4 is better. This is for Lap Mags mind you, they make a .338 Blackout/Whisper that's not nearly as violent and it may not need so much material.

TBAC probably did that because a lot of people a while back started asking about using the .338 can as a do-it-all on .308 and even 5.56 but had mounting issues IIRC. You may wanna call 'em and see what they say first, that's what I do.

I don't see where it would be an issue. The Hybrid 46 for 45 cal is threaded 5/8x24. The issue sometimes becomes enough meat on the OD for the shoulder to seat properly on "hunting" profile barrels. My 338WM had to be threaded 9/16x24 so it would have enough shoulder remaining to properly seat a thread converter to 5/8x24

The 338 Ultra is TOMB so you just get a brake with proper threads. Personally I like 3/4 for 338 but there are a lot of Savage 338s out there shooting fine with 5/8 threads.

9/16"-24 is a common size for 358 cal sporter rifles, so yeah, 5/8-24 is fine for 338. Bigger is better of course, but that's true for any caliber.
