Re: 5 Bad Mofos

Thanks for taking me down memory lane, not for anything I have done.

I was on a trip to Korea in May of 2004. In the elevator of the hotel I met an older hispanic gentalman with the Medal of Honor around his neck. He was Joseph Rodriguez, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_C._Rodriguez. My eyes got big and I asked if that was the Medal of Honor around his neck. He smiled and said yes. I stuck my hand out and shook his hand saying, 'I don't know who you are or what you did, but whatever it was I just want to thank you for your service.' I was in awe and dumbstruck. I bet he got that a lot...

It is sad to hear that he passed away about 18 months later. Sounds like he had a good, long life. Something so rare for those awarded the Medal of Honor.

Anyway, the linked thread in the OP was a good read.

Re: 5 Bad Mofos

Great link. Forgive me as he was a little before my time but damn Audie Murphy was a stud. My grandfather died at the Audie Murphy VA hospital in San Antonio and I read some info on his life but they definitely left out his "badassery"

Audie Murphy is my new hero!

Baba Deep Singh

Fighting bravely Singhs pushed the army back and reached village Chabba where General Attal Khan came forward and inflicted a blow on Baba Deep Singh ji which made his neck lean to one side. A Sikh reminded him, "You had resolved to reach the periphery of the pool." On hearing the talk of the Sikh, he supported his head with his left hand and removing the enemies from his way with the strokes of his double-edged sword with his right hand, reached the periphery of Harmindar Sahib where he breathed his last. The Singhs celebrated the Diwali of 1757 A.D. in Harminder Sahib".[
