Got back into the bolt 50 cal game and I was looking at way to mitigate recoil.

Saw the two videos below:

Seems to be quite the contrast in recoil when the tac 50 was mounted in the tripod.

Granted the rounds could have been custom hand loads "friendly" to first timers.

The channel host seems to not want to be contacted.

So I was wondering if anyone have had experience either specifically with 50 bmgs and tripods that can attest to this, or just tripod shooting in general and if loading the tripod in certain ways can mitigate recoil.

Being on a tripod is more like standing so it kinda lessens felt recoil but just like standing but it harder to be as precise as prone or bench.
Best way to mitigate recoil is a brake and/or more weight.

i use 2 legs back, and if anything, i tilt the top forward so the recoil is directed down the legs in stead of over the top.

/but i am nobody :p
//and only shoot a .308

Oh no, intent is not for ELR or anything like that where the intent is precision.

Intent is purely avenues of recoil mitigation. This would just be for instances at a 100 yard range and buddies are there.

Copy on weight and brake. But the brakes like the apa would definetly clear sinuses and more (like how I just saw the TBI article...). On a tactical bolt, resides topping it with a razor gen 2 there's not much else you can do to make it heavier. Not in a 2A friendly state so suppressors are not an option.
