A good friend and customer came back from Montana and took a nice 5x4 Mule deer. Buck was taken with a Tikka T3 Lite in 300WM with a 190 Sierra Matchking at 227 yards and dropped in it's tracks. The load is shooting under 1/2 MOA to 300 yards. They shot in Montana out to 500 yards on small vital area gongs, and were hitting them each time. This was a huge confidence boost for them! I provided them exact trajectory data with bullet velocity, altitude and temperatures for the area they were hunting in.

That's a nice trophy! Goes to show that match bullets are good to go on game as long as the shot is put in the right spot. I currently use the 115 DTAC with great success.

Nice buck! Practice on vital size gongs certainly help you know what your capability. Hunting mulies in the snow can be a lot of fun.

Yes, I didn't want to go there! If you make a good shot with most any good bullet, good things will happen.

Nice combo. Congrats to your friend on a very nice deer, and to you as well for some excellent preparation for him.
