Does anybody know much about these things, were they intended for magazine length, jump friendly, to compete with the lapua 139's? I was going to single feed them, (mag COAL 2.86) seated in lands with 260 would be 2.995 with these, using 46.0 gr H4831sc,26" 1:8 benchmark barrel.

I wouldn't hesitate to jump these bullets 0.020, 0.030" but 0.135 is a bit more than I'd like.

I'd try H4350 first, start about 44 gr and work up. Suggestion is for OAL of 2.995" w/ 140 Match BT LR just into lands, RP 260 brass, and GM210M. Pretty sure you'll find your accuracy & plenty of velocity at about 46 gr w/o signs of pressure. If you do run into high pressure signs before desired velocity/accuracy is acheived than switch over to H4831sc.

Re: 6.5 Berger 140 long range target boatails non-vld

I have come to the conclusion that do not necessarily have a need to shoot the 140 match lr bt bergers (be it I like to use my mag for the fun factor), any much suggestions on other rounds that don't mind a little jump, maybe lesser grain (120 grainish), preferably b.c.'s near .500, little bit more tanget ogive n' such? most of my shooting will be done out to the relm of 6 to 7 hundred yards (enough kinetic energy still for a well placed shot on a muley, and certainly a massive smack factor on Mr 'yote.) Or ditch the hs bottom metal and go with Wyatt's standard box 2.995, I make the mistake of not telling Benchmark to keep the freebore shorter. Your thought, anyone's suggestion? Handloading's admittedly new to me, shoot at extended range is not new to me (I live in the desert, go figure), shot my fair share of black hills through Ltr's, Pss, 700 mil-spec's,Barrett 99, but I new the caliber I wanted barreled would be a 260, which is nothing more than a 308milspec trued up,rebarreled by Benchmark 1/8 twist MTU contour, bedded, with hs bottom metal (which I notice not always a whole lotta positive stuff said about hs period), topped with Leupold Mk4 4.5x14x50m1, warne rings and base. Probably too much info.

You got screwed with a long chamber, after 1400 rounds my 260 has 139Scenars touching the lands with a olive length of 2.210, or COAL is less than 2.800, I suggest 142SMKs loaded as long as the magazine will allow lit off by CCI primers and H4350
