6.5 CM Factory Ammo

Just wanted to share some data from separate range trips. I did not go downrange to get pictures of the groups. I wish we could start a trend of posting SD, ES and average numbers for factory ammo, then let the shooter discover what groups best.

My rifle: 24" Tikka CTR in 6.5 CM.

I see you must have bought from the same lot Hornady ELD-M as I did. Absolutely atrocious. Fortunately, 98% of the time I handload.

Looks like the Norma stuff isn't going to win any awards either.

My, how Hornady has fallen since Covid. I have about 2K of the 140ELD Match loads from pre-Covid, and it typically looks about like your FGMM, except MV is considerably more, but I see you’re running a 24” Tikka, so that explains it.

The same thing happened to their 225ELD Match load for 300PRC after 2021. It went from really good to terrible.

I shot both of these ammos in 3 different rifles and my grandson shoots it in his tikka and it has shot outstanding in all...you factory ammo guys might want to give it a try, it ran slow in everything ive shot in in but it hammers...I do not remember how fast the 123s were but for some reason 2800-2850 comes to mind.

Hornady ammo in 6CM, 6.5CM, and 7RM has been dogshit the last several years both in terms of downrange precision, and also MV SDs. It’s too bad because they used to be an easy button for at least decent factory ammo.
