I'm getting ready to do a 6.5 creedmoor and I'm finding that .199" freebore seems to be standard. At least that's what most of the smiths I've talked to say. That seems like a lot of freebore and I'm wondering what the overall length of a 140 Amax at the lands would be.
Dave E. at Hornady told me they recommended changing to the .199 as standard a while back because they were having some presure issues with shorter throats. Does anyone know about this. I'd rather have too little freebore than too much.
I will be running AW magazines so I'll have some room to seat them out but I still like a little neck tension.
