Evening all, I'm working on reloading for my 6.5 Creedmore large frame. Im running a 20" Faxon match barrel on an Aero build and curious if anyone has loaded with Staball 6.5 in a similar configuration. I know H4350 is a go to powder for 6.5 but I'm looking for a good ball powder to use for loading on an XL750 with the dillon powder throw.

It shoots well with Hornady Match 140gn ELD-M and an unknown ball powder.

I worked up some loads with BLC2, CFE223 and TAC using GRT. 37gn of CFE223 was ok but I still get some extractor marks on the brass. Feels like the pressure rise is still too fast. Staball 6.5 looks really slow so I haven't tried it yet.

I know H4350 is a go to powder but it doesn't measure well with the powder throw.

Other powder suggestions would also be appreciated.

Large frame gas guns are hard on brass. Your faxon barrel is probably a rifle length gas system which makes things worse. A heavy buffer and spring will help and you will probably want an adjustable gas block. Staball 6.5 is a great powder for a large frame 6.5 creedmoor. I have used it with excellent results but it is pretty dirty especially when using a suppressor.
