6.5 Grendel gain twist?

After listening to the podcast where Frank is talking about the gain twist stuff it got me to wondering How much benifit a cartridge like the Grendel would see. I wonder if you could get another 150-200 FPS out of the 130’s. 2600fps from a 130 Berger out of an Ar platform??

That's a good question. What twist rate would you recommend, 1/7 1/7.5. If I knew how to work Coldbore like Frank I would do some research. What length barrel? I'm getting 2564 out a 24" using 123 Amax. Issue might be case capacity

Just thinking I would thinks 1/10-1/7 or maybe 1/9-1/7.5. Let it build pressure a little slower but still get it stabilized with a good head of steam. I did see 2541 out of my 18” with 130’s but it was hot. Definitely not something that could be shot on a regular basis. And yes case capacity would definitely cause an issue with some powders but I thin you could find some that would do the job.

Who can make gain twists for ARs right now? I've heard the benefits touted in multiple places, but I don't see a lot of folks using them...

Not sure but he was talking about the 223 guys using them in service rifles so someone should be making them.
