6.5 Grendel with JT barrel

J&T Distributors 24 inch stainless 24” barrel, I lapped the receiver and mounted the barrel on a DPMS high-rise upper, mounted a sightron S3 scope

Anyway results with factory 123 grain Hornady Amax
200 yards

300 yards

400 yards

2-each 3 shot group and the single in the blue was cold bore after last adjustment


200 and 300 were only 2 shots I was getting dope, but the program I used was spot on so no need to waste ammo, I am using this for antelope next month, trying to get dope for out to 400 yards after that I will use my 7mm Rem
just painted the scope
turret dope is as follows

200=1+2

300=4+1

400=8

I'm looking for a Grendel also. How happy are you with the J&T barrel? Any other details on the barrel would be helpful also.

love it, 100 yard accuracy was so good no reason to post it or shoot it anymore, basicly 1 hole.

gas block is .936, 11 degree crown, m4 feed ramps, comes with Bolt

What gas block did you go with?
It's a bull barrel then right?
Is it stainles or a brushed stainless?

Nice! I just put a 6.5G together as well. I haven't had time to send rounds down range yet. Hope it shoots as good as yours.

The only thing I don't care for is the bright stainless finish. I guess I could paint it.

I used Duracoat as a base then Krylon for the Cammo

did some experimenting today @ 400 Yards again, tried a different buffer, lock time testing, seemed to make a difference, groups opened up and dropped.

could also be the Ammo lot?

everything else is the same

needless to I am going back to the original buffer

cold bore shot is 1 inch low from the group

3 shot 100 yard group was un-distinguishable from one hole, looks like BS so I did not post it

What's the barrel twist?

What was your orginal buffer?
