Hey guys Im looking for a fire form load for my shorty 6.5 x 284 18'' barrel using R17 and Nosler 120 gr ballistic tips. I can't seem to find any info on the net. I will be loading 130 VLD Bergers later for this gun after I square up these cases after fire forming.

Just kidding. 18" is pretty short for a flame thrower like 6.5-284 though.
I suggest that, if you have one in mind, you use the load you plan on for the 130VLD.

My 6.5/284 is 28" so I wouldn't know what to do with half a barrel...
Try Hodgdon's website for the component combination you have on hand.
But the above advice makes some sense. Hopefully you will post some chronograph data for your efforts.

I should have been more specific... This is a barrel for my specialty pistol so yes it is very short but the deer hit the ground just as fast with my 17" 308...18" 6.5 x 47 Lapua tubes and my long barrel bolt guns. I will ask some of the guys on Specialty Pistols Forums....
