6.8 Rem SPC Help

I'm not sure what the issue is. I have probably 3,500 + pieces of the Federal 6.8 Brass. Most of these are once fired from when LWRC had them dirt cheap and I've reloaded them. I've pretty much use the CCI 400 but have ran some CCI 41 and Wolf Small rifle primers in them and have had no issue. They have all been processed using Lee Dies to Size, and the Dillion Swage tool with the appropriate 6.8 guide rod to get rid of the crimp. A few needed a slight cleanup with a chamfer tool after the swage. I prime all my cases with an RCBS handheld prime tool.

I haven't had any issues with primer pockets in my 6.8 either. It's been a little while since I've reloaded them but my "go to" setup for primer pockets is to use a gauge to check the pockets, so I can adjust my swage/cutting and make sure everything is good to go...

I have the neck tension and primer pocket gauges and they make setup a breeze. they have a 3 pack deal with the neck tension, large primer and small primer gauges.

IF the Dillon swage is adjusted right and you’re still having issues, I’d try the Hornady primer cutter. Maybe you’re just not removing all the crimp? You definitely can’t go wrong with the cutter on removing crimps.

Not the OP but I have one of the RCBS primer swages (based on the dillon setup) but usually I have to cut a bit out of the primer pocket in order for my gauges to fit in the pocket. Just FYI.

for cutting I use one of the RCBS primer pocket uniformer/crimp remover on a Frankford Arsenal prep station.
