Anyone running Norma brass in their Dasher? My barrel should be in soon and I’d like to have a starting point for everything as I’m new to the Dasher. Wanting to stick with 105 Hybrids and Varget as I have a lot of each.

I'd suggest exploring the range of 31.5 to 32.5gr Varget with the 105 Hybrid at 15 to 20 thou off the lands. There should be a good load in there somewhere. Don't hit the brass too hard on the first firing, you'll loosen primer pockets. Watch base expansion on the brass over time and make sure you are gettting adequate base diameter sizing from your die. Hope you get your barrel soon.

Where are you measuring the base diameter?

At the 0.200 line above the case head. The prior PVA Dasher chambers I've had were a bit smaller base diameter so I had to hunt around for a sizing die that gave adequate base sizing. Symptom will show up after about 5 firings as extra effort and bolt "click" on primary extraction if your die doesn't size enough.

I ended up having to use some custom ordered Harrell's dies to find something with a small enough base for the PVA chamber. Before that it was using a small base 308 die followed by bumping the shoulder again. Overall a bit of a hassle. I've since switched gunsmiths and am using a chamber that is closer to saami spec so I can use Forster FL dies, which works best with my workflow.

I had the same issue as Sheldon, but Harrell's didn't make a die tight enough to size the base, and they make some really tight dies. Maybe they could have custom made me one, but I didn't ask. A local guy who is a wizard touched up the rear of the chamber so that I could size it in a standard Forster or Redding Type S (I have both). To combat the issue in the future I bought a reamer cut to the base spec's Alex mentions above.
