6 digit Remington 700: Cerakote or sell as is?

I bought a re barreled Remington 700 in .260 about 4 years ago from an estate sale. It was designed as a metallic silhouette rifle. It has a 26" Shillen barrel with under 500 rounds through it, Timney trigger and a McMililan old style silhouette stock. I had the stock bedded by a smith in Phoenix and had the stock refinished by McMillian. It is the original bolt but the bolt face is pitted from what look like hot reloads. Even with the bolt face pitting it shoots sub MOA at 100 yards. I had plans of using this for precision rifle as well as metallic silhouette but ended up getting a deal on a Scalpel in 6.5 Creedmoor instead.

I talked to the smith who did the rebarrel and he said it was pitted prior to the rebarrel.

I would like to rebarrel this in 6.5 Creedmoor since that is what I primarily buy, load and shoot, cerakote it and put a shorter barrel on it and use it for hunting and metallic silhouette.

Since it is a old 6 digit action, is it a waste to someone who is looking for one if I Cerakote it? Does Cerakote damage the value?

Should I just take it apart and sell the barrel and action and get a newer 700 action when I find a new barrel?

What is this worth as a rifle or parts? From what I can tell it would be close to $400 for the receiver, $400 for the stock, $400 for the barrel and $75 for the trigger. Does that sound about right?

The pits in the bolt face mean very little. If I were to build on it Id just keep the firing pin assy and get a new bolt body.

If you're talking about it being a 6-digit receiver for someone wanting to do a M40/M40A1 build, it's not the Holy Grail unless it's a 168xxx, 221xxx or 224xxx receiver. Those are serial number series from the majority of the 6-digit M40A1s I saw when I was in. Otherwise, its value isn't that much more, if any, than one of the newer receivers. I'd say build on it and rock it!

I thought that the Creedmoor was shorter than the 260 and that was not possible?

If you have a vintage firearm you don't want to Cerakote it if you are trying yo retain the value. In this case I would Cerakote it and make a fine looking weapon out of it.
