Had my gunsmith doing some work and am deciding on a trigger for my 300BO AR, and he was showing me his Jard trigger on his AR. While trying it out I noticed he had a SIX rail free float tube on his rifle. It had no distinguishing marks or identification who made it. He said a guy came in to the shop with it and wanted a 4 rail tube and he just traded his for the 6 rail the customer brought in. Talk about real estate on a free float tube! It wasnt overpopulated like an 8 rail, its perfect for mounting your secondary optics at 45deg, it would make it easier to reach my light button from my vertical front grip (I gotta stretch my thumb just a hair with it mounted on the side at 90deg) and it was more comfortable in my hand than a quad rail!

I just got my Fortis REV 14" tube here yesterday, but if I could find one of these, I would ditch this Fortis - which by the way, is very nice! Noticeably lighter than my carbine length YHM spectre tube, although its too skinny to go over my lo-pro gas block so I have to get a lower profile GB now.

I know its probably something no one makes anymore since I cannot find anything like it at all. Does anyone know who made them or if there IS anything available in a 6 rail currently?

+1 on DPMS being the original mfg. of the only "true" 6-rail setup I have seen in the past or can otherwise recall. They come up for sale on rare occasions, but if you really want one that badly, try posting a WTB ad over on BARFCOM or M4C and see what you can reel in.

Aside from those, there are multiple "modular" handguard systems out on the market now that have the ability to mount addt'l rail sections of varying lengths at just about any position you could want/need, including mimicking the positioning of the 6-rail setup you are looking at. Frankly...I'd much rather have the real estate where I need it ONLY versus having it running the full length of the handguard like the DPMS which just adds weight/bulk/unnecessary crap where you'll never need it.

Yup thats the one. BARELY anything on google about it. Must have been pretty unpopular.

I just really dislike the modular look of a little rail here for this, a little rail here for that. I also am not fond of the 8 rail modular set-ups. Thats too much. This is, I mean was, a perfect compromise with not being too much and offers a great offset (45deg) mounting option for secondary sights/optics. It was really comfortable to hold too....would be even more so with the little rubber piccatinny inserts (not those rounded covers - those are way ugly).

Well, saw it, liked it, cant get it. Sucks. Maybe I'll try some WTB in some of the AR forums like you suggested.
