Fun video! Part of me wishes my kids were still young, grown up, all 3 don't live local to us anymore. My 25 year old's B-day today.
Shortly after I got into long range, about 11 years ago, my oldest boy went shooting with me, something he rarely did, and had never shot long range before.
A group of hunters showed up wanting to use a spot down range from us, (the local go-to). But we were at the spot which was 1000Y from the 2/3's IPSC steel where one drives into the range. I told them, yeah we're almost done here so we'll take a few shots then go pick up our steel. The guy driving yells over, "mind if we watch", I said sure, so they got out their spotting scopes and binocs.
Waiting a few minutes, my Son gets down prone off the bipod, with elevation and wind dialed for him on my scope, and using my Surgeon 30-375R/240's/2900 fps, son shoots and hits the steel right in the forehead which knocks the whole target over, lol!!!
Those hunters kind of freaked out and cheered at the same time! You see they had come to check zero on their rifles at 200Y. I'm guessing none of them had ever seen a shot like that so far away, nor contemplated such, by the way they were acting. They must have thought my son was aiming at the head, as well as the target wasn't erected properly, so it fell, lol, doubling the fun factor. Probably thought he was hot shit too, lol. We didn't want to spoil the moment so nothing more was said, lol.
Love those kids, the years go by quick. Looks like you are doing a great job so good on you.
