A friend of mine shot this video (sorry, no sound) of his son shooting my M99A1. Unlike Gunny Hartman, he handled it very well and didn't get an eye full of scope.

The thing I though was kind of cool was his reaction to shooting it. None whatsoever. Just picked up another round and took care of business. Like shooting his Anschutz air rifle - only bigger.

Always great to see young kids out shooting and learning the sport. That is an experience he will never forget and a story to be told for years to come. I like the way it slid him back a few inches!

Theres a difference between "long haired kid", and "Hippie". He could use some shapeing up though

Re: 65 lb. kid vs. 50 BMG

I took my 50bmg to a fun shoot last weekend and let anyone who wanted shoot it.A 10yr old girl just kept on putting rounds down range and couldn't stop smiling. She also put about a hundred rounds through my 1911.I love it when kids get interested in shooting. My 5yr old daughter loves to go shoot her 22 and is appropriately respectful of firearms.

No issues with the kid, but they should have lower the bipod legs for him so he could be true prone; or raise up high enough for him to be sitting if he was shooting over something...that did not look like a comfortable position (and yes I have shot 50 cals too).

You can't see it because he's a lefty, but there's a factory monopod that inserts into the stock at the bottom rear of that rifle. All he's holding up is himself.

You have to extend the bipod legs a couple of notches to use the monopod. Wish it was 2 inches shorter.
