anybody her have any experience with ether of these. bullet choices velocity ect.. im thinking about 105amax and 115dtacs bn coated up around 3400fps what do you guys think?

I think your performance will be exciting and your barrel life spectacularly brief.
But you will make the cut for your barrel makers X-Mas card list.....
My experience with a 240 WBY (just a belted 6mm-06), found powders with burning rates slower than H-4831 to be the only ones worth trying with heavy 6mm bullets.

I recently built a 6mm-06 ackley. I had planned on shooting 105 amaxs, but the gunsmith didn't throat it right. I ended up shooting the 95 gr berger vld's. I'm still testing loads, but did get them to 3680 with r-17. It looks like 3600 will be the accuracy node.
A 95gr vld at 3600 is pretty hard to beat. Though barrel life will be short.
You should no problem getting 105 amaxs to 3400 and maybe a little above.

I recently built a 6mm-06 ackley. I had planned on shooting 105 amaxs, but the gunsmith didn't throat it right. I ended up shooting the 95 gr berger vld's. I'm still testing loads, but did get them to 3680 with r-17. It looks like 3600 will be the accuracy node.

I have a 6\06 and think it is a great round. Not sure I believe the burning barrel poo ha. I have near 2K rounds on this tube and it till shoots .75 moa with most bullets above 85 gr and most better than that.
If you are going to bang out 200 to 400 rounds a week or use it as a comp gun then it probably is not the best choice. It is a fun round and if you have long action and a want to shoot 6mm bullets it is a great round.
Easy to load for and versatile. I have used mine from coyotes up to big whitetails and mule deer. I do not recommend it for big deer beyond 350 yards though.

Not sure how much I gained going with the ackley version. Its definetly more of a pain in the ass.

i appreciate the offer diablo. but i think im going to go the non ackley route. i dont really want to fire form with a barrel that isnt going to last. thanks jonathan
