20+ years of being around this stuff and 10+ years of doing it has taught me that I'm just fine with tossing an action in the tumbler for 5 minutes to put an even finish on the receiver in preparation for coating.

Hasn't hurt a gun's performance yet.

Every Nesika rifle ever built from 2003-2007 was done the exact same way and they all shot just fine too.

This little germ has left the building. Stock's off to the painter and the B/A is off to my good friend Mr. Beanland for a little coating.

Stay tuned for next week. . .

Stockwork is now pretty much done. It's off to the painter later this afternoon.

Now it's a matter of getting all the metalwork tuned up. I've sanded the nicks out of the receiver. (it'd been well used

) All the big parts (minus barrel) are in the tumbler just to make the finish uniform for coating.

Here's a few updates. I picked the stock up from the painter this weekend. I'm diggin it! As always, he did a really nice job. The metalwork should arrive today so we'll be wrapping this bugger up this afternoon hopefully.

What scope base/ring combo is on that rifle? Does it have any elevation built into it? Nice looking rig.

Nightforce direct mount, 20 MOA taper IIRC. I was originally thinking about having Chad hook me up with one of his in house 1913 rail & we ended up going this route, I think I like it

It has a nice solid look to it and unless you are planning on switching back and forth with different optics, it makes a lot of sense.

Well gents, I just picked my stick up last night, to say that i'm impressed is a gross understatement. I thought this thing looked good in the pics Chad posted here, she's a jaw dropper in real life. Hats off to Chad, job very well done.

Chad I bet between us we could probably replace all the rubber track pads on a Sherman tank. Here I thought I was special all this time thinking I was the only one grinding into the brass shim.LOL
