I purchased a .308 700p last fall and its one of the best buys I've ever made. the trigger was about 3.5 lbs and very crisp right out of the box, which sort of shocked me. It's also proven to be the most consistently accurate rifle I own. It will typically get 3 shots into .5, and 5 into at least .75 at 100 yds. anyway, I usually don't get that luxury on an out of the box gun, so I like to brag on it.
you might also think about finding one of the used 1st gen senderos. I've got a 1st gen in .270, which is also a great shooter, just not quite at the same level as the 700p. the trigger on those can be tuned by a gunsmith to an excellent pull (which is what I did with mine). on the downside, I find the balance of that old sendero to be terrible. muzzle heavy, butt-light. the 700p seems much better balanced, although it is heavier and has a thicker stock in general.
hope this helps.</div></div>
I have checked out quite a few 700P's locally and none that I looked at had the 40x triggers.
I have owned my Sendero SF II for a year and shoot .5 with reloads consistently and without issues. I even pulled off a .249" group with cheap federal 180gr ammo. I will not say you can do that every time but the rifle is a shooter.
Issues with the rifle have been none for me. Although you never know when you get a bad rifle it can happen in any line of Remington rifles. I have been so lucky at to own 5 Remington rifles from 69 all the way to 11' and had nothing but perfect working and very accurate. My buddy just doesn't understand my luck
And now some eye candy
