700P or R5 (luck of the draw for an accurate rifle ?)

I ordered a (P) but could walk out with an R-5.

I liked the P stock better
The 40X trigger is standard as I understand (I can get this to 1.5 lb save me $100-$200 on replacement)
I like the Parkerizing.
Rifle $150 less than R-5

But none of that matters if the r-5 is more accurate

I am an r5 fan all the way. Easier to clean too. My next rifle is going to be a 300WM 5r.

my remington 5r will shoot 1/2moa or better at 100 yards. Easy to clean, and for me i like shorter barrel than remington 700P 308

My 5r is a solid 1/2 moa shooter, I've never owned a 700p.

I've owned both. The 700P is a good rifle, no doubt, but after having my 5R (bought on the Hide here recently), I'd have to say 5R all the way. That consistently shoots 1/2 MOA for me. I'd say the 5R if you can. JMHO.
