What is the advantage of shimming the bolt . Trying to get all the info on this 77/22 that has been a good shooter . But want to make better Sear is next
Not sure how it is done but it sounds like it could put things in a bind and binding is normally not good for accuracy. That being said if the shimming helps accuracy over a statistically valid number of groups do it.
The shims cut out my flier issue. Mine is a used All-Weather with an adjustable sear and I’ve added a temporary trigger stop. Gun will now hang with premium rifles, but the stock is more flexible than I’d prefer.

Unknown, it was in place when I purchased it. I’d have to dig it outta the safe, but I believe it’s adjustable by removing the bolt from the receiver rather than taking off the stock.
