New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
What is the advantage of shimming the bolt .
Trying to get all the info on this 77/22 that has been a good shooter .
But want to make better
Sear is next
Not sure how it is done but it sounds like it could put things in a bind and binding is normally not good for accuracy.
That being said if the shimming helps accuracy over a statistically valid number of groups do it.
The shims cut out my flier issue.
Mine is a used All-Weather with an adjustable sear and I’ve added a temporary trigger stop. Gun will now hang with premium rifles, but the stock is more flexible than I’d prefer.

Unknown, it was in place when I purchased it. I’d have to dig it outta the safe, but I believe it’s adjustable by removing the bolt from the receiver rather than taking off the stock.
