Hello, I've scoured the bowels of the internet and don't see a drop in 8.5 twist barrel for 7mm-08 and Savage.
I want a 26'' 8.5 twist to run the 175gr Sierra MatchKings with RL-17. Savage short actions can mag feed a COAL of 2.980 so I should be in good shape. This is obviously a budget build, leaning toward buying a cheaper .308 with accutrigger and selling the factory barrel and stock.
Anyone out there with this twist rate on their Savage or know where I can buy just the action? If I can't find a drop barrel any recommendations on a custom barrel with 5R rifling?
