I've been using 4.7 grains of Longshot to get a 147gr FMJ at 983fps. Would like to push it a little faster(but am at max) and wanted to see what you guys were using.

I have used Power pistol and think it would be a good choice but have recently switched from power pistol to 3.8 gr bull's-eye however.

9 inch AR15 = 1060fps
Glock 17 = 950 fps
147 gr Zero JHP

Also one of the vitavouri powders gives a max velocity of over 1200 fps with a hornady 147 xtp from a four inch barrel. I have personally never tried that powder.

I've used both bullseye and Winchester 231. 3.8-4gr of bullseye and 4-4.2gr of 231. Your mileage may vary and I've been shooting these loads in a submachinegun so if you're shooting a pistol start low.

231 isn't going to give you 1000 FPS all that easily, especially if you are attempting to stay inside current published data.

I was struggling to get 975 FPS from a 147 LRN using 231/hp-38, around that FPS with the softer bullet I was using I started to show some leading as well.

Settled on 3.4gr of hp-38, its in the 875 FPS area, shoots soft and accurately.

If you want velocity try PP or HS-6
