Fellow member and friend James Bailey and I took some walnut furniture up to his beautiful farm in the middle if nowhere Rappahannock County. After we unloaded the furniture we did some shooting. First we dumped several magazines out of my AR with a binary trigger...not quite like full auto but it rocks and rolls pretty well. I t needs good ammo though, the cheap plinking stuff jammed quite often where as the green tip runs smoothly. Then we got to some long range. Went as far out as 700 yards with his custom 308. He was banging steel regular in a near full crosswind gusting up to 12-15 mph. I got on the steel on my fourth shot.

My big take away is that now I understand why ya'll laugh and call the Remington X Mark trigger (the stock one in my 5R) a lawyers design. Up until I shot his rifle with a Jewell I thought the X Mark was pretty smooth...my only comparisons having been some hunting rifles and my Barrett M82-1. Sheeeeiiiit, looks like I know where some of my stimulus money is going. First shot it really surprised me even after some dry fires.

Finished up by running a few mags through my brand new Glock 30 just for fun.

A good day at the range with a good buddy.

Is it the X-mark or the X-mark pro. You can adjust the first X-mark and make it feel pretty good. The pro's I had not so much. Granted they all got replaced.

You guys are lucky, 12-15 is breezy out here on the plains this time of year.

Went out yesterday and had an awesome day at the range.

Listened to a Modern Day Sniper podcast last week about proper LOP and its affect on trigger pull and technique. Reset it on my AXMC from 13.25 to 12.5". Suddenly my POI matches my POA exactly. I have a feeling that my 90 degree trigger pull was not 90 degrees.

Not adjustable but even if it was it still feels like a baseball bat compared to the Jewell.

I am an old retired Boomer and probably shoot more times in a week than a lot of you get to shoot in a month.

If 3 days go by, and they rarely do, that I don't smell burnt powder in the air and hear the 1000 yd. steel clang, I am on a Jones.
I don't shoot in the rain as that is rare around here and doesn't last long and the occasional blizzard fucks me up, otherwise I am there.
