A Hello from a FNG

Hello all. I have been lurking and reading here for quite some time now. Through my reading here I have chosen a Remington 700 5r milspec as my first long range rifle. I'm looking forward to running some ammo through it and learning a new skill.

By trade I am a machinist. I program and operate a cnc machining center (cnc mill with a tool changer). My boss is pretty cool as guns go. I'm able to bring in whatever the "gun of the month" is and work on it during my lunch

Anyway, I'm happy to finally be part of the forum here!

I'm in Iowa, home of the brave, land of the.....uh corn Thanks for the welcome! I haven't done any real interesting projects lately. I'm half way through a Saiga 7.62 conversion if that interests anyone. And I built my own AR armorer's vise about a year ago. Other than that, I've been just doing work at work. (strange concept I know)
