Just cause I wanted to see if I could, lol.

I need a smaller tool for the porting portion. 3/16 was all I had with sufficient reach to make it down the runner. It left a bit of a cusp at the bowl/runner transition.

The shortages have affected my tool vendor a bit. I've had some .120 dia lollypop endmills on order now for over a month.

Pointless, but way cool to screw with and learn the ins n outs of some new toolpaths Ive not been able to mess with.

Wow! Thats bad ass! You making the rest as well? I think with a small turbo and e85 it might make 10hp! Could be a pretty damn cool project haha. Nice work man.

That's impressive. Now where's the rest of the motor? Ha

Please tell us you’re making the whole motor and dropping it in an RC car.
    Beat me to it.

Yeah. You know its gonna happen…..

He will probably make the whole car. Nothing will handle the power because you know he is gonna build a turbo for it.

Not really. It's more of a primer for this thing:

25 or so years ago I worked for a few well-known engine builders part-time while in the Marine Corps. I was just a maggot barely allowed to run a mop, but it did eventually graduate into some stuff. Bill Craddock was the "head guy" for the Anderson Top Fuel Effort. He went out on his own and that was my first legit civilian job out the Marine Corps. Around that time Kenny Weld (Weld wheels, one of the brothers) was getting out of the "butt house" for selling coke. He convinced the family to buy a 5x machine that he tore apart and rebuilt so that it was better suited for porting heads. The entire industry of CNC headwork was literally born from that effort. I told myself someday I'd be able to do that.

A quarter-century later here we are. I just want to make a pair of heads for the drag car and see if it'll run the number. A few hundred hours later I have a preliminary model, but it's not gotten much far than that. Hoping to have em done by spring. We shall see. Long way to go yet.

It'd be interesting making tiny spark-plugs, to fit those heads. Actual spark-plugs, and not the 'glow plugs' that they use on the small airplane engines.

You've got a LOT of fun toys, there.

    @deersniper

Have Chad build you one on a 3 lug 60 degree and use an Obsession Chassis and you will forget about that Limey stuff that is slow to arrive.

He can Rainbow cerakote it if you want people to think its an AI! 🤣

Dont you have a combine to break or something???

I probably don't want to know but how much for a pair of those ?
    PM if you like.

I'd like to build the whole engine but they would more than likely just be a conversation piece between car guys.

Just put a set of ported heads & ported blower snout on an LSA in a Holden LJ Torana. (Going on the hub dyno on Sunday)
made 670hp on the stock heads.

    Ps:
    like your rebadged Holdens

Very cool Longrifles! Can’t wait to see a full engine! Amazing detail on the heads!!!

Here is one I did in 2018/19. No CNC… but the 5 main castings were from a kit. So that was a start. Everything else is lathe, Bridgeport and files. Lots of filing!

1/6 scale. Lots of little parts! Spark plugs you say @Sean the Nailer ? Ivory is a great ceramic substitute!
