First off I am not going mention the name because I think my mechanics maybe at fault, here are fact's:

Ruger HvyBarrel Stainlss 308, cut to 20" and threaded.

75 feet a ragged hole in the b's-eye.

100 yards not even on paper!

Loopy 3-12 ...maybe 2-12...

Military ball ammo

Shot off a table, barrel supported.

Scope screws tight...but I am not sure the scope rings are the correct one's even so, why such a great disparity from 75 feet back to 100yards...

Does not appear that suppressor is getting bullet strike's...

Mechanical issue's I should check for...

Re: A REAL CONCERN WITH MY SUPPRESSOR......

First thing to do. Take the can off.

How would you not know if your rights are right? What do you mean here?

Don't support the rifle by the barrel. If you're using a bag or something, get it back under the stock.

Get a WAY bigger piece of paper.

Try again.

Re: A REAL CONCERN WITH MY SUPPRESSOR......or ME!

So you have a good ragged grouping in the bullseye @ 75 Yrd . on paper ?
But ( your saying ? ) 25 yrd. more to the 100 yrd. . You are not even hitting paper ? Bullets Not making it There ?
Are the Bullets over-spun on the RPM ? . & disintegrating past the 75 yrd. mark . ?? . The bullets are FMJ, Mil. surplus ? .
.

If you get a bigger piece of paper, it will be easy to figure out.

Re: A REAL CONCERN WITH MY SUPPRESSOR......or ME!

If your on paper at 75, shoot some groups unsuppressed at 100, then once happy with your POI and group size go suppressed, you should have a minor POI change but the groups should remain about the same.

If they go haywire at that point then your back to trouble shooting the suppressor or threading.

Pay attn. the man said he is zero on the bullseye at 75 feet not yds. With a 308 win rifle that would give the bullet impact around 4" high at 100yds. If he is shooting 8" diameter targets he could easily be shooting over.

Yes shoot rifle with silencer off first, make sure it works ok.
If you mount the silencer and your group shifts more than 6" at 100 yds something is wrong, if the group size gets worse then the bullets are being deflected by the silencer which is not good.

KUDOS- the sight offset with a 25yd zero will create a HIGH POI at 100yds.

You should be impacting ~1.5" low at 25 and then you'll be about dead nuts at 100, instead of 6" high.

Stop resting the barrel on things, the barrel is subject to harmonic movement and touching the barrel to something will change the behavior of the barrel whip and shift POI.

You should be good to go though with a simple forearm rested shooting position and a 1.5" low at 25yd zero.

<span style="font-weight: bold"> Ft. not Yards . . Yep - things so simple to see & right in front of your face sometimes are the hardest to see & you fast-fly right over the top of it .

Re: A REAL CONCERN WITH MY SUPPRESSOR......or ME!

I have almost the same setup. one problem I had was the rings have to be two different sizes not two of the same ones. One sive difference in the two will line the scope up. just check it out.

+1000 Although so simple it's comical, this is the solution. Why is it so hard to just try it?

Re: A REAL CONCERN WITH MY SUPPRESSOR......or ME!

I get those huge sheets of paper from restaurants that change them for each guest. Like Macaronni Grill and Bone Fish Grill. Call and ask the manager if you can come by and pay for a few. Tell them they are for your kids art project.

Makes tasks like the one you're attempting super easy. VS the huge trouble shooting mess you've got now.

I keep a tube of them in the trunk all rolled up.

Re: A REAL CONCERN WITH MY SUPPRESSOR......or ME!

First thing I'm gonna do is change the ring's: while cleaning out one of my drawers full of gun stuff, in marked little pacgages I found the top of one set of rings...marked in a box reading "Ruger heavy barrel 308"...the one I am having the sight-in issues with and I know where the bottom halve's are!!!!

Next I will discover if the rings allow for the Loopy to have clearance above the barrel when set in the rings...

Looks as if I am gonna start all over...AND your suggestions have not fallen on deaf ears ....well okay just slightly deaf ears...

I buy a roll of Freezer Paper every 3 years or so. 1 side is sorta plastic coated and the other side marks real good with any writing instrument. Collect political signs the night of elections. Butterfly paper clamps hold the paper to the signs.......
