Looking to fill in my MV temp table. How many rounds are you using for MV average?
I'm in the northeast , should I use a 20 Degree temperature spread for my 4 entries?

i try and use 10 shot string as the average, but 5 IMO is the minimum.

As for the temp spread, i believe they recommend at least 30 degrees, but if 20 is all you have for now go with it and update as you collect more data.

Hi Guys
I have read the online manual, but still not quite sure I understand how I should be using the Temp. Table.
Do I just add Velocities and Temps from different range days to build up a table?
Or do I have to use the Calibrate section of the app as per the App .pdf guide which I did not fully understand?

That depends, do you need to calibrate anything out like your scope, atmospherics, or your chronograph. Or do you use a Lab Radar?

If you have an instrument to measure atmospherics on site, and you have a Lab Radar etc. Plus your scope has been verified through live fire on a tall target test then you are less likely to need to do a calibration.

Hi Doc
I use a kestral for temp, and a labradar for speed.
I still dont understand...sorry.
Do I need to fill in the MV/temp table?
Does it give me any more accuracy on the data?
The manual for it does not explain what it does?
Is there anything I can look at which explains in detail what all the settings do and WHY?
Thanks

It allows the software to calculate a change in FPS per degree so if shooting at a temp you don’t have data for it can estimate your MV more accurately.

So does that mean I can just input different temps and related velocities as I record them, and not build the Temp Table from the "Ballistic Calibration" as it says in the AB .pdf?

Hi again
Every time I put in Temps and Velocities, the drops are really way out.
I have checked the go from high to low.
If I delete all, just put in one temp and Velocity that matches the actual velocity in the main profile, it seems to work.
Also I have had to fudge the Velocity to get it to do accurate drops.
My Labradar says i'm doing 2990, but to get the drops to work I have to put in 2830.
Is this normal?

If you have a good velocity, tweak the BC to match the drops. I guarantee your velocity is higher than what the manufacturer determined the BC at

To be honest, I'm thinking of going back to my Kestrel and just use the 2400 for distance.
I personally dont think it's that good.
The interface is confussing to me and the instructions available for it are useless.
I sell these, but think I may stop recommending them, I have already had 2 people asking me to explain how to put in all the settings.
I cant even get mine to work.

If you use the AB mobile app you get a better understanding of how it works. The problem is the kestrel doesn’t have all the features so there are still some limitations. Kestrel decides what features to offer not AB. The entire AB engine lives on the kestrel, and is available, but kestrel doesn’t open it up.

I can tell you this, I have good success with using it. But I’ve also taken the time to really learn the tool.

Edit: Wait are you using the SIG Kilo?

Can you build a temp table in the App?
No. What you do is take your collected velocities and determine its change in FPS per degree average and use that, which is what the table does. I’m pretty sure @DocUSMCRetired said that the table will be in the next update.
