accepted bullet weight variance

Can anyone point out what is an acceptable bullet weight variance for 30cal bullets to be used for 1000yards? lets say +/-0.5 grain difference over 20 weighed bullets, would that be acceptable?

Does this margin of error increase as you use heavier bullets such as the 250scenars for the 338? eg +/- 0.7 grains difference for the 250 scenars?

Typically, you shouldn't get more than .2 or .3 grain difference. If there is a large extreme spread, then I would sort them out for 1K use. But, I stopped weight sorting years ago. I honestly couldn't tell any value was added by weight sorting bullets, brass, or loaded rounds.
