Accuracy International AT-X

It’s all good, Burty, I was talking AIAT into the ATX chassis. Didn’t think a 16.5” bbl would work, but wasn’t sure.

A second rifle is certainly easier and faster than finding a 2nd bolt. I'd like to convert a second bolt but getting a hold of the bolt is the challenge. I've had a bolt on back order for over a year now.
Mines on the way. Anyone else want in on this better get it fast while supplies are limited according to EO.

Why is the at-x not shown on their web site?
Trying to find barrels not out of stock and the folding hinge.

Why the extra bolt? Open up face to magnum? They known to fail? 1k for a bolt......typical laughable AI prices.

What’s the idea behind buying multiple bolts?
Run the normal 308 bolt face calibers as well as short magnum calibers. 6bra to 7saum in less than 5 mins. Around $2k for a bolt and barrel is a lot cheaper than building/buying another premium rifle, gaining a spare firing pin assy in the process.

Curious on mag choice for 7saum in an atx? Prob just tuning and guesswork as nobody has done one. That's a fantastic cartridge list though.
Well for one, not ever one who owns a ATX, AX, or AT knows it can be done. 2nd, the biggest problem is getting a 2nd bolt. AI is slow as fuck to produce rifles and parts. But there’s a few here that already have done it. Once you get the bolt machined, you already have open up a menu of SA magnums cartridge’s at your disposal. Kinda like a “poor mans axsr“. Though your best friend will be a gunsmith.

Took Advanced Precision Rifle at Ridgeline this weekend. The AT-X performed like a champ. It helped me take home one of their coveted black hoodies that can only be earned! Pics from the weekend.

I shot the smallest 5 round 100 yard group in my life today with my AT-X, .184" if you measure outside to outside and subtract the bullet diameter.

This load has consistently been in the .3's at 100 yards, but it really opens up past 300. The ES and SD are kind of iffy. I'm tempted to change primers,or figure out something else I can do to improve velocity consistency.

Does anyone know if you can run a 1.250" straight taper with the full length cover, R700 AT-X chassis?

Yes, but you cannot run a bridge on the chassis, it won't go. Tried putting my CDG w/ 1.250 straight 6bra in mine, was a lil heart broken.

Yup! She’s a tight fit on the AI pic rail for whatever reason. Pretty sure it is a part of the gun now 😂

Interesting. I tried my one years ago that normally sits on my GRS stock as they are pretty cheap. I just put the two together and said no….. now I know hammering it on is an option!

Still trying to convert to 6Dasher. I’m hung up on the mags. The HRD mag kits are out of stock everywhere. Is that my only option for the AX magazine?

You can load them all the way to the front rib in the mag body and they'll feed/function, however under recoil funny things happen and the rounds will start moving to the rear the mag and problems will rise. My gt does this since the spring pressure is so low on the ax and aw mags. I'm looking for a couple more hrd kits that'll I'll modify by thinning the rear spacer for gt. I already have a few for my 6bra aw mags.

So the HRD kit is my best bet to run reliably? My ATX is my primary PRS rifle so reliability is a must

Anyone installed the hinge and open to me asking a couple questions?
