Intalled my Surgeon bottom metal and the rear screw seems too long. It protrudes through the metal and my bolt hits it. Is it the wrong screw? The long screw goes to the back if I remember correctly. What should I do?

Re: Action screw problem

trim it is the quick easy fix i had to do it to my badger DBM when i built my 308 the action screws that was supplied where too long in forward and reward position, i cut 3-4 threads and re blued.

Re: Action screw problem

Here's one instance when a dremel would work. Put a nut onto the bolt. Use the cut off wheel to take a few threads off. Then, bevel the edge of the bolt with a file so it isn't sharp. Then take the nut off and it will clean up the threads as it comes off. Blue it or paint it black and install.

Count how many are sticking out and only take off one more thread than that. It's pretty easy to do without messing it up.
