CENTRAL KITSAP —

A 20-year-old Central Kitsap man could face reckless endangerment charges after a gun he was wearing on his hip accidentally fired, sending a round through the floor of his apartment and into the unit below.

No one was injured.

The man called police after the weapon discharge, according to Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reports. The man told deputies he’d been wearing the Smith and Wesson 500 revolver around his waist in a holster while in the apartment all day.

He told deputies he must have sat down “really hard” on a cot in the living room, causing the gun to fire. He told deputies the bullet just missed his foot and that he was not familiar with the gun because it belonged to a friend.

The man knocked on the apartment door downstairs, but no one answered. Deputies went inside and found the apartment empty. The bullet had gone through the ceiling, through a nearby bedroom wall and into the floor, according to reports.

The sheriff’s report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review and possible charging of reckless endangerment.

Did anyone not catch that the gun went off by itself in a holster? LOL

He was screwing around - the roundo nly went through the floor though...either that's a thick floor or too big of a bullet.

Remington Lawyers may have a new client in S&W if CBS has anything to say about it.

I bet the fucker was playing quick draw! When my friend Dan did that the idiot shot his .45 ACP Hard Baller from his pocket, put a nice crease on his knee, and a hole in the floor. Alex, Chris, Me, well, we did what we always di in a situation like that, we laughed our fuckin asses off at Dan's expence...some guys are there just for comedy relief

+1 someone was doing quick draw. Do they still have the integral firing pin in the hammer, or do they have the pin block piece thingy that won't let the pin hit the primer unless the trigger is pulled?
