Hey there,

I'm looking at a Good Deal on a fiberglass stock of a style and design (McM adjustable A6) that I like... only problem is the LOP is a bit short (13.5") for me. Given that they glue on the existing recoil pad, how big of a deal is it to add some length to a stock like this?

Most of my experience with adjustable LOP has been with 3 & 4-way adj. butt plates, which I think would be kind of overkill for this particular setup, and probably end up too long.

It sounds like the old recoil pad would have to be cut/ground off, then... install a spacer system? Grind to fit to match the contour of the stock? Best to send it back to McMillan for the work, or have local gunsmith do it?

What other (good) options are there?
