Advantage Arms Conversion

Looking for some insight into the function and reliability of of the Advantage Arms conversion kit for my Glock 17/34. Also is anybody having luck getting the these conversions? I have had one on order with TOSCOM aka Glockworld since 03/13/09 and called the other day to be informed it will be at least two more months. Hoping this will perform to a level to at least allow for some good pistol presentation drills and to compliment my conversion for my 10.5" M4 for more trigger time in training.

My 19-23 LE has run great since I got it 4 years or more ago.
The only drawback, aside from lack or recoil, is the very light weight (Plastic+aluminum= feathers).
I ran across a 17 yesterday at the gun show. I had the guy's card at one time, but can't find it at present. Sorry. I bought a 19-23 for my brother-in-law a couple of months ago but it wafor cash, so I can't track him that way, either.

Frog, thanks for the insight and looking for a contact. I suspected that the weight and recoil are a concern but some trigger time is better than no trigger time as our ammo budget has really been cut short. I run a light on my 17 and 34 so I was thinking of removing the batteries and putting a couple wrapped lead plugs in their place to generate a little more weight up front without changing the holster fit. Any particular ammo to stay away from with these conversions and is there any brands that shoot at an apprecialbe high degree of precision verses others at a reasonable price point? One other thing to consider.....TacSol has begun making very nice .22 slides for glocks to the same standards as their 1911 conversions. Morey and I should be getting our hands on one soon for T&E. They were supposed to have them available by SHOT, but I couldnt go. They look quite nice and I am looking forward to mine.

mine runs great on remington golden bullets. it has also performed well with subsonics/suppressor. it's more accurate than the glock upper. you're welcome to try it out some time. it's on a g20, so it's a bit larger, but you'll get the idea.

MD I will give them a call and see what they have to offer as the conversion kit is closer in weight to the factory Glock that certainly elimnates one of the down falls of shooting .22's. Thanks for the heads up. Sending you a PM about some more stiches.

CW good to hear from you and the 20/21 was certainly my other choice but as I only carry my 21 when doing SWAT stuff and want the wife and kids to be able to shoot it went with the 17LE model. We will have to get to the range sometime and exwercise it so I can see how it works. Good to hear that it will eat the inexpensive bulk stuff and do it accurately.

Intel from a pretty good source who has T&Ed for TacSol is that the first years production is already sold to dealers and distributors. How that will play out vs. the number TacSol has reserved for their own sales is unknown but I would not buy an AA kit that is available now vs. waiting on a TacSol to become available.

I should add that I am a TacSol whore with both a 2211 conversion and an AR22 upper.

Any of you guys have experience with the Tac-Sol 2211? I do...

It took a lot of work to get it to run right. Of course now that I tuned everything on it, it runs fantastic. Really makes me wonder if they changed things over time. I got mine right when they were released.

I also have a G17 target conversion from AA. It runs great. Use the gold bullets, they make a mess and usually the kit needs to be cleaned every 500rds.

I run one on a G19....one of the few things on the "never sell" list. It is much lighter and the recoil is way different but......it is still a good training tool--especially for presentation and 1st shot type drills. Obviously, trigger control drills as well.

Me, I just love blasting away.....no pop can is safe when mine is out.

There is a local shop in Minnesota called J and S custom....they seem to have them in stock more than other places. Don't have the number handy but it is
J&S custom firearms in Lakeville Minnesota....can't hurt to call them.
