Less math.
With mil mil you spot your bullet impact and measure the distance away from your POI and dial in (or hold off) that distance.
With mil moa you measure in mils and then calculate how many moa to dial. Or you just hold off.

The reticle in scope is a calibrated ruler, it make no sense for the scope to have adjustments in a different angular measurement
