Advice Needed

I have been getting the itch to do more long range target shooting and had settled on a .260 Rem of one form or another. The problem I have run into is that I am left handed and cannot find a .260 rifle that is left handed. Remington has very limited options in left handed, Tikka does not export the .260 to the US, and I believe there is only one model of Savage that is left handed in .260

So as far as I can tell my options are to buy a rifle that is something along the lines of a 308 and rebarrel it to 260, build a custom rifle, or change calibers.

My original plan was a Tikka T3 or Rem 700 and putting an aftermarket adjustable stock on it with an approximate budget for the rifle of $ 1800 without scope.

I am unsure of how much of an undertaking it is to re-barrel an action, what it would cost to have a gunsmith do it and if there are any other things that would be worth having done while it is getting a new barrel.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i would go that route with your budget, go find bugholes here on the hide and buy a 6.5 barrel from him and the stock of your choice..add a some time at the smith and volla! rifle!

Savage made pre-accutriger "tactical" model 10s, lefthanded, in 260.

Rebarreling most rifles is generally about $300 plus barrel, and between 2 weeks and 2 years, depending on the gunsmith.

Savage is the big exception, of course, as a monkey is nearly capable of the job. Will cost ~$150 in tools, plus an hour of your time.
