Advice on Ballistic gear: What to do with it.

Dont know if this is the right spot for it, just looking for some answers. I have 2 medium and 1 XL ceramic plates that I had when I was in the Military. I tried turning them into supply, they told me no..and CIF didnt want them either, so basicly got stuck with em. I also have a Intercepter level 3 vest that I got from a security contractor in Iraq.

Ive heard theres alot of restrictions on selling body armor..whats the deal? I just want to do the right thing and make sure Im not breaking any laws, and I have no use for it anymore. Suggestions?

shoot them, start small and work up to an RPG, for scientific research, post range report here

By all means shoot them. I had a set of level III from when I was a reserve deputy. When they were way beyond their listed expiration date I proceeded to try a bunch of different loads into them. 45/70 with the vest hanging over a 3/4" plywood board was quite impressive.
