Thinking of stocking up some 168 bullets to get into 308 reloading. Are Hornady 168 bullets as good as SMK? My rifle shoots FGMM with 168 SMK well, but I have never seen Hornary 168 used in commercial match ammo except perhaps Hornady's own line. Hornady 168 BTHP are sold at Midway for about 23c/pc if bought in 1800 bulk. What do you guys think?

If you like the smk and the Hornady bthp .. Try some 168 & 178 gr AMAX 8)

That's all I use anymore. I have started shooting them from 600-800yds and have had great luck.

Have had good results with the 168 AMax. I've used the bthp match but the amax seems a bit Better.

Same here. With the BTHP I ran 46gr. PowerPro 2000mr seated 2.822 coal in my Rock Creek barreled .308 @ 24-3/4" (.008" off lands) 2750fps avg. shot .3 moa. Shot well out to around 900 a little iffy @1000. 168 Amax shot .260" and held 1/2 moa too 1000.

They are a really great flying bullet in several .308 rifles some of my buds shoot too. They were a touch better than the SMK in mine.

check powdervalley.com for pricing on your 168bthp. may not have to order as many for a good price.
