lost wages, nv (Vegas Baby :-)
I want to build ,,

rem 700 varmint in 7mm-08
cut to 20" threaded,
timmey trigger
XLR tac stock
seekins rail and rings
I have a 3x10x40 burris signature scope so for now i'll use it (ballistc plex)

most of the rest of the work will have to wait
for awhile, I know I could save some funds with a
different stock .. but I really want that stock.

I figure I can put in some trigger time till the
funds can be saved for a full build like most
of you guys do ... till then I'd be a want a be ..

thoughts ????

Re: after a lot of thought .. here is want

Sounds like a good build but putting together a gun that shoots well AND you feel comfortable with in both how it fits you and also how comfortable you are in knowing you got what you want for the purpose it was put together in the first place. Thousands of combinations out there, and nearly all of them will do the job. If you're looking for a build that you're hoping others will give you the thumbs up for then you may never find total satisfaction.

Looks like you got a really good start in mind and can add to it as funds and skills deem it necessary. With good skills and lots of trigger time you'll be surprised just how little you need to spend although it might not be the "be all to end all" gun build that will wow everyone that sees it.

Have fun with this hobby, starting slow and growing with both equipment and skills give more satisfaction than going all out with a big dollar gun and low skills and getting frustrated.

Good luck

Looks good to me better start than I had. Only advice I can offer is do your homework on optics. I didn't in the beginning and payed for it later. Get what you want and can afford because if you don't you may not have funds enough left for ammo to enjoy your purchase. If you can seek out professional instruction at a local range best money I have spent to date. And welcome to the hide!
