Recently (on complete impulse) picked up a Savage 10TR. I'm new to precision rifles, so I didn't realize that the accustock the rifle comes wiht had a different bolt release that is by the trigger guard. Apparently that really limits my aftermarket stock options.

What are some of the stock options I have? Also, if there is a stock inletted for this release, does that mean I still use the savage dechable box magazine, or would most stocks have me using a different magazine system like AICS?

Thing I am looking for in a stock is the comb be more pistol grip like, ability to mount side swivels, and budget permitting an adjustable cheek rest.

If for some reason I can't find a stock that fits and I want to go with a different rifle, any idea on what kind of value I could sell the TR for?

I did the same thing you did this summer. I had to sell the rifle and buy a different model to fit the AI AICS I already had because of the mag release button. I am not sure which models do work with that style but I do know AI is out. Once you figure it out though I think you will be impressed. The one I have shoots sub moa all day which I was really impressed with!

XLR makes the chassis for the bottom bolt release
McMillan will inlet for the factory bottom metal with the bottom bolt release (I have an A5 on the way for my FCP-K)
Don't quote me on this but I thought manners would also inlet for the bottom bolt release as well
I talked to someone at McRee a few months ago and they said that they were working on making their chassis work with the bottom bolt release

Almost all of the new Savage small shank actions have the bottom bolt release so you would think that there will only continue to be more options

you can remove the bottom release by swapping to the old side release lever and bending it outward slightly.a guy on the savage forums did it to his because of your exact problem. if you are really picky about it, you can have a smith mill out the side so it looks like the older ones.

Thank you everyone. srt-4_uk, I will look at the savage forum on finding out how to do a conversion, unless you have a linky handy?

Sounds like I do have some options, is there any value in selling off the accustock?...if so, how much is it worth?
