ai ax mag issues

Just got my SAC built 260 rem in a ax chassis went and shot loads tonight and tried to use my 10rnd ax double stack mags and none of them will click in. sac did skim bed the chassis if i remember right. any ideas on where to go from here?

Are they AW "double stack" mags or AI mags? Can you see what is causing them not to latch? mag hitting action, etc.

i ordered them from eurooptic as ax 10 rnd mags and ya the feed lips are hitting on the bottom of the action can a guy just bend them over a bit or would that mess up the feeding of the round

No, you don't want to bend the feed lips. The 5 rounders fit though? Post a pic of the 10 rnd mags if you can, you could have got a few AW mags by mistake, but the AW 10 round mags are just slightly longer than the AI 5 rnd mags, the AI 10 rnd mags are fairly long.

ai mags dont have feed lips on the front of them. i have some ten round ai mags here single stack about 6inches long the "other" 10 rnd mags have feed lips on them like my 5rnd ax mag does. do the aw mags have feed lips on the front of them also ill post pics in a minute gotta upload them to photobucket

according to mile high and eurooptic the ax action uses a double stack 10rnd mag they both sent me the same mags i got one from mhs and two from euro

But are you using a remmy action in a ax chassis. If so the remmy action needs a lot of work to feed from a double stack mag if even possible.

just did a little more digging on milehigh and this is what i found.

so im not sure but i think the action needs to be modified to use these mags? am i right or what

Here is the deal. AI makes an AX mag used for actual real AI-AX rifles, they also make an AICS-AX mag. The stock you have is an AICS so you need to use that mag not one made for an AX. An AICS-AW mag will work but not suggested by AI.

Just exchange them, both are awesome companies!!! Just be sure to use the AI part number I provided above. I have an AICS-AW and a new GAP built in an AICS-AX so I recently went through the process of figuring out the mags myself.

we will see if they will return them i bought them when i sent my chassis off to get a barreled action back in april

You bought AX mags for a non AX rifle. I have some AICS magazines I'd trade you for your AX mags if you're interested and they won't return them. Send me a PM.
