Really? Why is that?

Re: AI stocks

Have to show my ignorance here, also.

The scope mounts and scope are a function of the receiver group.

If the barrel is cleanly floated and is not affected in any way with the relative position of the receiver to the stock, how could it affect accuracy?

Re: AI stocks

To bed, or not to bed?

That question has already been answered MANY FREAKING TIMES.

Re: AI stocks

I had one that needed to be bedded with the action I had, if you tightened the screws it had to twist the action to get tight, might have been the action I don't know. I have a friend that has one and every action he has had in it shot really good. I guess it depends on the action. In theory sitting in a "V" it should sit solid in the stock, but of course that's in a perfect world!

Re: AI stocks

I think a lot of us pick them up because you can get the relatively easily in a short period of time and they already have a detachable magazine system. It's just a comfortable stock to be behind also.

As for the bedding, I haven't seen the need to do so, but that's just one man's opinion, so take it for what it is worth.

Re: AI stocks

Ok. So I can take my barreled action and just set it in this chassis part, bolt it down, then screw on the stock? That being in a perfect world and the action fits perfectly. Action bolted to chassis, chassis bolted to stock? So the question is, AI stocks are intended to be drop in?

Re: AI stocks

Action bolts come with dry loc-tite on them from AI, just follow the directions and you will be good. If you dis-assemble it after dragging it around it is up to you if you want to use blue loc-tite on the bolts again or not. I use blue and do a re-torque for my rifle and it still holds zero. Some bed some don't, just do not have a brain cramp and use red
