I recently purchased a 700 SA Bdl 1.5 AI chassis for a build I'm working on. I've got an SPS Tactical with a Zeiss 4.5 x14 x50 mc Conquest, so just for the hell of it I decided to drop it in and see how it shot. At 200 yards I shot a total of 16 times at a 1" circle. 2 to get dialed in then 14 ripping it. Not sure what size group it is but damn that chassis makes a difference. Loads were 168 vlds lapua brass with 45.9 varget.

Now just add the viperskins to it and you'll get just as much excitement all over again. The chassis was a big difference but I think the viperskins was an even bigger improvement in my comfort and happiness with the rifle.

Forgive my ignorance but what exactly are viper skins. (I'm new to the chassis game)

I noticed quite a large difference when I upgraded to and AICS chassis from a pillar bedded McMillan A5. I'm sure they are both as accurate systems, however my gun & I love the AICS. I don't like the extra weight though! These babies are heavy.....

I was the otherway around i moved from chasis to mcm :) i like the feeling of mcm but like everyone say its personal preference.. and youre right they both serve you well. I just bought aics ax soon ill find out if am i realy a mcm guy or chasis:)

3/4 moa on average. Every now and then I'd get some in the .2's

Nice shooting and this is comforting to hear. I just picked up an SD-AAC that I'm still learning to shoot with factory stock dremelled out in front. I've got about 40 rounds through it.

As soon as groups are consistent, I'm picking up a new stock. The chassis systems seem like the way to go and better resale since its not fitted to a specific action.

How much does your setup weigh?

I actually put it on a scale and believe it was 12.#s. not loaded.

What kind of difference did you see?

The gun was bedded by a reputable smith, and they appeared to have done the job well. However, my groups have really became more consistent in size and POI. Cold bore shots have become far more predictable. I'd say my groups off the bench have shrunk down 1/4 MOA on average. There may be other factors here, however I noticed and immediate difference at distance with only the stock change.

I loaded up some 175 vlds today and headed to the range. Zeroed in at 100 yds. Then went for a hell Mary. 920 yds. 10 shots with 8 hits. All with a sps tac in a 1.5 chassis and a 14 powered Zeiss mc conquest. Was very impressed with its feel and stability
