a friend wanted to loose some weight off of his aics 2.0 and asked if i could help out. since it is aluminum, there really isn't much weight to be saved but i did what i could. personally, i wouldn't do this to mine as i have no idea if the strength has been compromised but i think it will be fine.
finished skeletonizing the front section. never mind my contaminated coolant

i also skeletonized the magwell and removed a bit of material on the bottom of the chassis in front of the magwell.

if it breaks, i guess we'll know it wasn't such a good idea after all
. i really wish i had a scale accurate enough to get a good before and after weight. i doubt it saved more than a few ounces. i think it looks kind of cool though.
