Okay so I just recieved a 2.0 SA AICS Stock. Im putting an SPS Tac 308 in the baby.

Do I need to take off the skins to mount the action and barrel in the chassis? Or do I just need to press down hard to get it in the proper position? I feel like its catching on the sides a little big where the front guard screw locks in.

Re: AICS Installation Question

It's no problem to take off the skins if you would like. As you can see they are roughly deburred, and you may want to relieve some material so the action will drop in. Other than that, it is as easy as it seems.

Re: AICS Installation Question

If you dont have a long allen wrench, (like me) you can take off the skins, torque the action into the stock with a short one and put the skins back on.

Re: AICS Installation Question

I have never had to take the skins off of either of mine.
I made my own AI action tool.
Take a 3/16" 1/4" drive socket and buy an el cheapo 3/16" LONG allen wrench, cut the "L" off of the allen wrench and then use epoxy to glue the allen wrench into the 3/16" socket.
I now have a socket that fits my Wheeler torque wrench that is plenty long enough to reach my action bolts without taking the skins off.
Or you can just buy a set of these in SAE, they have them in standard they just dont show on the website:
