Hey guys. I know someone on here has to have this set up. I am looking for a picture of a rifle with a AICS Stock, a NF 5.5x20x50 scope W/ sun shade attached, and IMUNS.
Before I purchase a IMUNS, I want to see how well it will fit on my rifle with the above listed accessories.
My concern is that with the sunshade attached to the scope, there will be no room to run the IMUNS since it has a picatinny rail.

Thanks for your help

Re: AICS, NF 5.5x20x50, and IMUNS picture request.

Its all going to depend on how high your scope is.

I had a 56mm with my IMUNS. But it was mounted low enough that the IMUNS had to be set with the extended rail going forward or the shade would hit it.

Additionally, I couldn't use the BC Flip Ups as there was not enough room between the shade and the IMUNS to make it work.

But who really needs an IMUNS with a shade anyways? So I ditched the shade.

If you scope is high enough, I suppose you could sneak the extended rail of the IMUNS underneath the sunshade, but why?

not exactly what your looking for but has something to check out...

Looking at my rifle and the positioning of my scope, my sunshade comes up to the last side panel stud on the forearm. If i moved the scope forward slightly more it would come up to the front of the "well" where the sling point is.

Based on this I would say the IMUNS would sit right in front of the sunshade but not touching.

Some scopes are longer than others. I need to a Nightforce W/ a sunshade attached to it along with the AICS stock having an IMUNS. I want to know if the sunshade will interfer with the IMUNS.

I understand your question, but the point of the IMUNS is to mount a UNS.

I guess I'm asking why are you are attempting to use a Sunshade with an UNS?

Or is the IMUNS for another reason?

sorry for the confusion.. i dont plan on using the IMUNS for night vision, atleast not now. I plan on using it for a bipod, possibly a light, laser etc..

I have that set-up but no pics -- it will be fine. If you put a PVS-27 on there though, you will need to unscrew the sunshade.

Re: AICS, NF 5.5x20x50, and IMUNS picture request.

Ahh. Well, if you aren't using the IMUNS for any sort of UNS that makes sense.

Like Stacy said, the top cap on the IMUNS is removable and can be flip flopped. With the extended part forward, it will clear any 22x NF, at any ring height. But it should also be noted that the accessory side rail is attached to the cap of the IMUNS. If you remove the top cap, you remove the side rail.

Additionally, now Badger makes an alternate pic rail base for the IMUNS called the ILARK. Traditionally, in the past, the bottom piece that secures the IMUNS to the chassis was a sling swivel stud.

If you get the ILARK instead of the stud, you will not need to get the Atlas spigot adapter. Simply buy the clamp on version of the Atlas and you will be able to hook it right to the pic rail on the ILARK.

If you look at TRIAD's posts here, he shows a pic of the new ILARK for the IMUNS. Or you can go to their website and check it out.

Also, just be aware that the IMUNS is not compatible will all barrels. The IMUNS has an internal diameter of 1.200 which means your barrel should be no bigger than 1.100 to leave .050 all the way around the barrel. That is my problem right now. My IMUNS will not go on my M2008 as the barrel is too big in diameter at the IMUNS/Barrel junction. I'm having another barrel with the proper contour sent off to be chambered so I can use the IMUNS.

If your rifle has a custom barrel on it, you need to measure it. You may not be able to use the IMUNS at all.
