Re: AICS, NF 5.5x20x50, and IMUNS picture request.
Ahh. Well, if you aren't using the IMUNS for any sort of UNS that makes sense.
Like Stacy said, the top cap on the IMUNS is removable and can be flip flopped. With the extended part forward, it will clear any 22x NF, at any ring height. But it should also be noted that the accessory side rail is attached to the cap of the IMUNS. If you remove the top cap, you remove the side rail.
Additionally, now Badger makes an alternate pic rail base for the IMUNS called the ILARK. Traditionally, in the past, the bottom piece that secures the IMUNS to the chassis was a sling swivel stud.
If you get the ILARK instead of the stud, you will not need to get the Atlas spigot adapter. Simply buy the clamp on version of the Atlas and you will be able to hook it right to the pic rail on the ILARK.
If you look at TRIAD's posts here, he shows a pic of the new ILARK for the IMUNS. Or you can go to their website and check it out.
Also, just be aware that the IMUNS is not compatible will all barrels. The IMUNS has an internal diameter of 1.200 which means your barrel should be no bigger than 1.100 to leave .050 all the way around the barrel. That is my problem right now. My IMUNS will not go on my M2008 as the barrel is too big in diameter at the IMUNS/Barrel junction. I'm having another barrel with the proper contour sent off to be chambered so I can use the IMUNS.
If your rifle has a custom barrel on it, you need to measure it. You may not be able to use the IMUNS at all.
