Maybe it's just me and I don't remember this always being the case but listen to this:
I was at the range earlier today shooting my 7.62X51 40X Repeater at 300yds. I set a target out there that had 5 bulls-eye's. (I don't remember what it was for. Probably 50yd small bore rifle or something). Anyway, once I got my scope dialed in I was shooting about 1/2MOA groups. I wasn't too happy with that because I KNOW that rifle shoots better. I decided to shoot at a "Cat-food can lid" that someone had put up with a black dot in the center. Long story short... I put 4 rounds in one hole just below the dot on that lid. For some reason when I shoot at tiny targets I make tiny groups!
Ya know the black "dot" stickers you use to cover your holes? At 100yds I can hit those dead-center all day long if I staple them to the backboard at the range. But when I shoot at a big piece of paper (8"x10") with with those dots stuck to it I don't do as well!!! WTF
